Does JScreenFix really work?

Can JScreenFix damage my screen?
Screens are designed to display rapidly changing images for many years. Running JScreenFix for 20 minutes will not cause damage to your screen. JScreenFix has been used to successfully repair over one million screens.
Other applications and videos which turn the entire screen on and off rapidly cause a significant strain on the power circuitry and could damage your screen. JScreenFix's uncoordinated switching ensures that the average power requirement is roughly constant which is much safer. All results have shown this to be significantly more effective too.
Can JScreenFix repair backlight bleeding?
Unfortunately, JScreenFix and JScreenFix deluxe can not stop light bleeding through from the outer edges of the LCD panel.
I have downloaded JScreenFix.jnlp how can I run it?
Assuming the latest version of Java is installed and configured correctly, the JNLP file should launch JScreenFix automatically.
If you have downloaded the JScreenFix.jnlp file and nothing happened, you probably need to install the latest version of the Java Runtime Environment.
How do I get JScreenFix working on OS X Lion?
OS X Lion does not provide a Java runtime by default, it must be manually installed.
Why does JScreenFix still show up as Trial after purchasing on Linux?
There are known issues with the Open JDK / Open JRE. Please install Oracle / Sun Java.
Why am I receiving a licence error?
This can be caused by several things:
- You are running mulitple copies of the application.
The licence is for one computer only. Please do not distribute freely. - The configuration files have been lost.
CCleaner for Windows and Cocktail for Mac have been known to cause issues.
Either stop these apps cleaning the Java cache or choose Advanced Installation Options in the LPM and keep the application and licence files somewhere safe. - The app has been unable to confirm it has a valid licence in the last 30 days.
Is the app firewalled? Make sure the app can make an outbound network connection to lpm.jads.co.uk
Why is JScreenFix deluxe failing to start?
If you purchased JScreenFix deluxe over a year ago, you may have not been automatically upgraded.
Please visit the LPM to reclaim your software and licence.
What is a pixel massage?
A pixel massage is a technique that can sometimes fix stuck pixels.
To perform a pixel massage follow these steps:
- Turn off the screen.
- Apply moisture to a tightly woven cloth (so not to scratch the screen).
- Using a single finger behind the cloth, apply pressure to the area where the stuck pixel lies.
- While still applying pressure turn the screen back on.
- Remove the pressure and the stuck pixel should be gone.
WARNING: Touching the screen is not recommended. You may create more stuck pixels or even dead pixels!
How does RefundWare work?
- An authorisation is made for the payment amount.

What is the history of JScreenFix?
JScreenFix was developed as a special component for JADS Digital Signage to help repair image persistence - a common problem with Digital Signage systems.
Starting with the observation that an untuned analog TV channel is particularly effective at removing persistent images, further research was carried out. With much experimentation it emerged that a slightly modified noise pattern was extremely effective at repairing stuck pixels, another common screen defect. This evolved into a simple Java applet that was put online.
Since July 2006, the JScreenFix applet has been accessed over 3 million times and the algorithm has since been refined and built into a commercial application.
