Why did you create JScreenFix?
JScreenFix was developed as a special component for the Java Announcement Display System (JADS) which is a digital signage solution. Digital signage is notorious for causing screen burn-in and protecting screens running digital signage software from screen burn-in is important. The design of a JADS template for reducing screen burn-in originated from the observation that untuned analog TV channel is particularly effective at removing burn-in. With much experimentation and feed back from users it emerged that the technique was very effective at repairing stuck pixels as well as screen burn-in.
JScreenFix was put online online in July 2006 as a Java applet called JScreenFix. In November 2006 JScreenFix was moved to www.jscreenfix.com and work began on a deluxe version in addition to midlet and video versions.
Since the release of JScreenFix the applet has been accessed nearly 1 million times.
